The most basic technique in watercolor painting is flat wash. It is one of the most difficult things to fix if you make a mistake in your painting. When you finish, your painting should turn out with evenly with nice fading work. Wet in wet is another technique. To do this, get the paper damp with a large brush then paint over the damp areas. When finished the painting should look soft and a little blurry. Dry brush is the opposite of wet in wet. So when your done with dry brush it should look sharp with detail. Other techniques are Dropping in color, Lifting off, and Glazing.
